Yes another sunrise

Why another sunrise, let me ask you a question, does your past affect your present, your future, alot of people will say no, God forgives our past so it shouldn't affect us but the truth is our past goes with us each step of our days, the decisions that we make from day to day good or bad will follow us. That is why I love sunrises, each day we get the CHANCE to try again. God loves us so much that he gives us the chance to wake up in the morning and go out in the world one more time and see what WE can do FOR him. So the next time you are up in the morning, look at the sun and watch it rise and decide what am I going to do for God today???

this is not the time of year for this tree but for about 2 weeks, I took a pic a day of this tree, trying to capture that right moment of color before the dreaded rain came and destroyed it.......never happened just when I thought one more day, then it was the next and next and then guess what perfection, NOT!!!!, rain :), oh well there is this fall to try again

What does God expect of us??

It's a simple question, right?? but is the answer so simple?? What is the Christian faith all about?? Going to church every Sunday, saying grace before meals, avoiding sin-or does God expect more?? What does God expect of me?? not just me but for everyone who claims to follow Christ. Jesus had a lot to say about it. He gave us a deep insight into the character of God and our relationship with Him as well, but he also spoke at length about God's expectations, our values and how we are to live in the world. So how are we to live?? God wants more than going to church, praying, more than believing, God asks us for everything. Do you really believe in John 3:16, if Jesus was more than willing to die for us, why aren't we willing to die for him and I mean daily die for him!!! Maybe one responsiblity to do my part is to be that example to the world, my body is a temple of God's. Does everything I do say that I am God's temple. This is not easy. Anyone who has tried to follow Jesus knows that the journey is fought with setbacks, challenges and failures. Those who choose to follow Jesus have struggled, it feels like somedays just give in but if we give in who has just won. And we need to ask the question what if?? What if each of us decided with renewed commitment to truly embrace Jesus and demonstrate it thru our lives, not just in big ways but in the every day small ways. What if we each said to God, Use me, I want to change the world!! Certainly we know Satan would be right there knocking us down at each point but no where does it say in the Bible that following Jesus was going to be easy but it does say He will walk with us each step of the way and He will never give us more than what we can handle. So again the question is to you, What does God expect of you????

This is mad max, kadee and matt's 17 pound kitty, he loves to play, be petted, the list goes on and on but on his terms. Don't you just wonder what he is thinking????

A Step back in time!!!

Last night at CLC (at church) our usual wonderful opening leader (Go Allison, Go Allison) was sick along with Tucker so we had a sub, well Miss Nettie did a wonderful job. Since we didn't have music or any of our usual things Miss Nettie did a question time in the book of Genesis, it was great, the kids waited patiently while another class got to answer a question, looking up the answer with them, helping them out, then once all the classes got to answer one question, she had three questions for anyone to answer, it was kewl just to watch the kids all wait for the question then the clue she gave them, everyone was having so much fun we even went over our normal time slot but it has been a long time since I have seen a question time for kids to look up the answers and then they had to tell where the scripture was from and read it outloud. Of course we also seen a side of some adults (no competition there, right?? and you know who you are) that was exciting for them also. I just thought it was great and I think we should do it again. Later on in the night, my class (with a wonderful helper Mary) and Paula and Dave class played a pattern game together and with that game they learned that even just reading even one verse a day was a pattern, there was only 1 girl out of 6 kids that actually said she read her Bible everyday, now I thought how sad, maybe with reminding the kids every wednesday night about that game, maybe other kids will follow that pattern of reading their Bible.
